Inquire About Your DateAbout The Plaza
The Plaza opened on October 1, 1907, at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Central Park South. The city made it a landmark in 1969, it joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, and after closing in 2005 for a restoration from lobby to roof, it reopened in 2008.
Its Grand Ballroom is where Truman Capote threw his Black and White Ball in 1966, and it seats up to 500, or 1,000 for cocktails. One level below, the restored Terrace Room hangs original crystal chandeliers by Charles Winston, modeled on those at Versailles, and it hosts weddings by itself or alongside the ballroom.
Other rooms suit the rest of a wedding: the Palm Court under its stained glass dome, the paneled Oak Room with its 20-foot ceiling, the Edwardian Room with windows on Central Park, and The Rose Club above the lobby, built over the old Persian Room where Duke Ellington and Miles Davis once played. The hotel also arranges room blocks for wedding guests.

Planning your night at The Plaza
A working hotel's timetable
At a hotel, equipment moves on the hotel's schedule. We confirm our load-in time and the route from the street to the ballroom with The Plaza's event team, and our engineer is set up two hours before your guests arrive.
Two rooms, one floor apart
If cocktails are in the Terrace Room and dinner is in the Grand Ballroom above it, we plan where the cocktail-hour musician plays and when the band takes the stage upstairs, so guests walk into music at every step.
A set list across the decades
A room with this much history invites a set list that spans eras. Your Music Form tells us the artists, decades and must-play songs that matter to you, and we build the night from it. Our run of show template helps you lay out the rest.
Guests staying upstairs
With guests booked into the hotel, some couples want the music to run late. We offer overtime and a DJ after-party as add-ons for exactly that.
The band at The Plaza
Scaled to the room, from the duo to a full eleven-piece band.
Your Playlist
The full live band, seven to eleven pieces: lead female and male vocals, keys, guitar, bass, drums and saxophone, with horns, electric violin or a second vocalist to add.
Eddie & Gabby
The two founders, with every decade from the fifties to now. Made for cocktail hours, ceremonies and smaller rooms.
DJ Hybrid
A DJ anchors the night while live musicians move through the crowd on saxophone, electric violin, guitar or vocals.
"THE BEST EVER. Not only are Gabby and Eddie so easy to work with, they are extremely talented and fun. It has been two weeks since our wedding and guests are still contacting us about the band. They did not stop playing once, and the dance floor was more crowded than any other wedding, all thanks to their energy, talent, and perfect song choices."

Questions about The Plaza
Have you performed at The Plaza?
Yes. We have performed at The Plaza, and we work out load-in, sound and timing with the hotel's event team well before the wedding.
Should we choose the Grand Ballroom or the Terrace Room?
It depends on your guest count and the feel you want. The Grand Ballroom seats up to 500, and the Terrace Room works alone or as a partner to the ballroom. We size the band to whichever room you pick.
What does the band wear?
Our standard is all black, suits and gowns, which sits well in a black-tie ballroom. If you have another look in mind, ask, and we can match it.
Will you announce our entrance?
Yes. Gabby and Eddie emcee every announcement, from your grand entrance to the last toast, following the timeline your planner settles with us on the day.
