About The Pierre

The Pierre opened in 1930 on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 61st Street, directly across from Central Park, and it is now a Taj hotel. Its architecture pairs French classical lines with New York style, and over the years Coco Chanel, Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor all called it home.

The hotel plans a wedding as a walk through its best rooms. Vows can happen in the Cotillion Ballroom overlooking the park, cocktails in the Garden Foyer, then dinner and dancing in the Grand Ballroom, which has hosted high society weddings since the 1930s and seats up to 450.

The Cotillion Ballroom has its own past: it was once the hotel's supper club, and it is where the tango scene in Scent of a Woman was filmed. In all, The Pierre has about 18,000 square feet of event space, hotel rooms it can block for guests coming from out of town, and Central Park a few steps from the door.

Planning your night at The Pierre

Cotillion to ballroom

With the ceremony in the Cotillion Ballroom and dinner in the Grand Ballroom, both on the second floor, we set the ceremony musician first and have the band ready before guests take their seats.

Photos in the park

Central Park is just across Fifth Avenue, so photos there are easy to fit in. If yours fall during the cocktail hour, our complimentary musician keeps guests company until you return, and our guide to cocktail hour music has ideas for that set.

LED wall and our PA

The Pierre lists advanced audio-visual technology and a built-in LED wall among the features of its ballroom. We bring our own full PA and sound engineer, and we coordinate with the hotel's team if you want video or the LED wall during the toasts.

A full ballroom

A Grand Ballroom of 450 guests calls for a big sound. Our lineup grows from the core seven-piece to as many as 11, adding horns, an electric violin or a second singer.

"THE BEST EVER. Not only are Gabby and Eddie so easy to work with, they are extremely talented and fun. It has been two weeks since our wedding and guests are still contacting us about the band. They did not stop playing once, and the dance floor was more crowded than any other wedding, all thanks to their energy, talent, and perfect song choices."

Yes. The ceremony and cocktail hour come with one complimentary musician in every package, and Eddie arranges larger ceremony groups, from solo keys to a string quartet.

Is there music during dinner?
