Wedding Band at the PPG Wintergarden
An 8,000-square-foot garden under glass in downtown Pittsburgh. We have performed at the PPG Wintergarden and plan for the way a glass room carries sound.
Inquire About Your DateAbout the PPG Wintergarden
The Wintergarden sits inside One PPG Place, part of the glass complex that, as the venue notes, architecture critics have called the crown jewel of Pittsburgh's skyline. PPG Place spreads over three city blocks and 5.5 acres downtown, right beside historic Market Square.
The room itself is a garden enclosed in glass: about 8,000 square feet, full of plants and bright with daylight. It is reserved for private events every day of the week, and it holds up to 300 guests for a seated dinner or 400 for a cocktail-style reception.
Food comes from the venue's own private event catering, with Bottleneck Management running the space. The menus lean modern American, and there is a dedicated wedding menu alongside seated dinners, interactive stations and brunch options for a daytime party.

Planning your night at the PPG Wintergarden
A band in a glass room
Glass walls bounce sound, and a room this open lets it travel. We set the PA for the space before guests arrive, point it at the dance floor and keep dinner volume low enough that toasts and table talk stay easy.
From daylight to dark
An afternoon ceremony and an evening reception feel like two different rooms under all that glass. If you add our stage lighting, we design it for after sunset and keep it quiet while daylight is still pouring in.
One room for the whole reception
With cocktails, dinner and dancing sharing one space, the floor plan does a lot of work. We plan the stage with the venue's event coordinator so the dance floor can open up after dinner, and our dinner rotation keeps live music going while the tables are served.
Loading in downtown
The venue's directions page gives 2 PPG Place as the GPS address. We confirm the loading point, parking for our gear and our arrival time with the event coordinator well before the day, so the downtown part of the job is settled early.

"This band was AMAZING. Hands down the highlight of our reception, with everyone on the dance floor all night. They delivered everything we asked for and more. They read the room perfectly, kept the party going, and created an atmosphere our guests are still raving about. Professional, dynamic, and incredibly talented."

Questions about the PPG Wintergarden
Have you performed at the PPG Wintergarden?
Yes. The PPG Wintergarden is one of the Pittsburgh venues where we have performed.
Will a live band be too loud under glass?
Not when the system is set for the room. Our engineer is on site two hours before your event to tune it, and we hold the volume down through dinner before raising it for dancing.
How many guests fit with a dance floor?
The venue lists 300 for a seated dinner and 400 for a cocktail-style party. Your final count, the dance floor and the band's footprint all come out of one floor plan, so we work it out with the event coordinator.
Can the duo play the cocktail hour among the plants?
Yes. Eddie & Gabby cover every decade from the fifties to now, a good match for a cocktail hour before the full band takes over for dinner and dancing.
