Inquire About Your DateAbout Fox Chapel Golf Club
Fox Chapel Golf Club was organized at a dinner on January 26, 1923, when a group of Pittsburgh golfers pledged the money to build a course of their own. The architect Seth Raynor laid it out with holes modeled on the best of Europe, and it opened on June 13, 1925. The club's own history credits R.B. Mellon with suggesting the name.
An expanded clubhouse by the architect Brandon Smith replaced the original building in 1931. Over the decades the club added tennis, paddle tennis, a swimming complex and a shooting lodge, and it has hosted national championships, among them the 1985 U.S. Women's Amateur, the 2002 Curtis Cup and the 2024 U.S. Senior Women's Open.
It is a private, traditional club, and its website keeps the event details brief: ceremony locations, spaces for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, and a ballroom for 100 to 250 guests. The club's events team arranges visits so you can see the spaces in person.

Planning your night at Fox Chapel Golf Club
Dressed for the club
The club asks for traditional dress in the main clubhouse after 5 p.m., and denim is not allowed in its private event spaces. Our standard stage wear is black suits and black gowns, which sits comfortably within that; if you want another look, tell us early and we will arrange it.
Through the events team
At a private club, the events team sets the terms for vendors: arrival times, where vehicles go and how gear reaches the ballroom. We get those answers from them ahead of the day and plan our load-in around the club's schedule.
Sizing for 100 to 250
That range covers very different parties. Near 100 guests, the Eddie & Gabby duo or the DJ Hybrid can be the right scale; closer to 250, a full band with horns makes sense. We help you choose once your count is firm.
Ceremony and cocktails in their own spaces
The club offers separate spots for the ceremony and for cocktails. The ceremony and cocktail-hour musician who comes with every package can follow your guests from one to the next while the band gets ready in the ballroom.

"This band was AMAZING. Hands down the highlight of our reception, with everyone on the dance floor all night. They delivered everything we asked for and more. They read the room perfectly, kept the party going, and created an atmosphere our guests are still raving about. Professional, dynamic, and incredibly talented."
